With the new school year all partner schools started working on the project with new hopes and energy. The next few months will be the time of meetings, virtual or traditional.
The visit planned for autumn 2020 was held in October 2021, virtually. We spend three days, 21 students from Greece, Lithuania, Poland and Spain with their teachers, connected via Teams, doing exciting activities!
The event began officially with a greeting from the school authorities and a tour of the buildings and its premises. The Spanish students told other participants about their school – its history, traditions and everyday life. After that, all participants of the project started the activities, focused on language and how it makes us unique but also how it brings us together within this „Family that we call Europe”. Using Spain’s Microsoft Teams platform, we worked in pairs and international groups, and performed tasks in a national group. We learned how effective and universal body language is, we got to know the alphabets of partner school’s countries, we wrote myths about the creation of the European Union and, as part of the Language Challenges, we sang, counted and did the shopping in 3 different foreign languages. The highlight of the three-day joint event was a flamenco dance show, broadcast live by a Spanish school, and a joint dance lesson under the supervision of a professional Spanish dancer.
The project involves three more visits: in Greece, Poland and Lithuania. We believe that despite the pandemic, they will be organised traditionally and finally we will be able to meet in person.
